To renew your car registration online  All you have to do is:

  • sign up in less than 3 minutes.
  • After the certificate is ready, you will receive it through mail without leaving your house.

This option is available for any passenger vehicle including cars, light trucks, vans, RVs, off-highway vehicles (snowmobiles, ATVs), and some commercial vehicles (all Class 2, certain Class 1). The option is not available for a car registered as a fleet or company vehicle. For renewing commercial vehicles, the company needs to keep an active and good-standing corporate registration. It’s not mandatory by the registry, but a Safety Fitness Certificate is also necessary for certain vehicles.

1. Verified Alberta.ca Account: You’ll need a verified account to renew online. Signing up can take time (allow 10 business days for verification).
