Registration Renewal Online in Alberta

Registering online through Goldkey is a simple and straightforward process. All you have to do is sign up in less than 3 minutes. After the certificate is ready, you will receive it through mail without leaving your house.

This option is available for any passenger vehicle including cars, light trucks, vans, RVs, off-highway vehicles (snowmobiles, ATVs), and some commercial vehicles (all Class 2, certain Class 1). The option is not available for a car registered as a fleet or company vehicle. For renewing commercial vehicles, the company needs to keep an active and good-standing corporate registration. It’s not mandatory by the registry, but a Safety Fitness Certificate is also necessary for certain vehicles.

Online renewals are available on a term-by-term basis with each term lasting for one year only. To renew for a longer period, please visit a registry office.
