Vehicle Registration Renewals
When It’s time to renew your vehicle registration, you have a few choices to get it done. We are happy to help you register your vehicle at GoldKey Registry. If it’s easier, you can register online.
The Alberta Government has made changes to the registration renewal process, effective January 1, 2021. In Alberta, stickers (month and year) for license plates will no longer be issued. A vehicle owner is responsible for knowing the date their vehicle registration expires and to renew their registration online or in-person at a registry.
What To Bring
To register in person, you will need to bring a few documents with you, including proof of your insurance (i.e. pink card) for the vehicle you’re renewing. If you don’t have a hard copy of your insurance, please contact your insurance company to get a digital copy. Please bring your identification (e.g. drivers license) to the registry.
If you’re renewing online, you can have the registration sent to you via courier, Canada Post, or drop by the registry to pick it up. You will need your vehicle’s registration certificate and your pink card to renew your registration online.
The cost of registration in Alberta is prorated and dependant on the first letter of your last name.
