MyAlberta eServices is an online service provided by the Government of Alberta, Canada, where you can access government services and do transactions online. It’s your one-stop-shop to manage your government interactions from the comfort of your home or on the go.

  1. Go to the Create New Account page
  2. You get three signing up options:
  • Sign up with Google

3. Agree to the terms of use and submit

How to Renew Vehicle Registration Online

The account you’ve just created is useful for many tasks and transactions. Here’s how to use it to renew your vehicle registration online in Alberta.

First: What You Need

  1. A verified Alberta.ca Account
  2. Your current vehicle registration certificate
  3. Valid insurance details from your pink card
  4. A Valid credit card (VISA, MasterCard or American Express)
  5. An updated web browser (Internet Explorer 6 or higher, Firefox, Chrome or Safari)

Bear in mind that it takes time to verify your account. Allow the system up to 10 days to send your verification code via email. So, if your registration expires soon, it’s best to start signing up as soon as possible.

Here’s what to expect when you’re renewing your vehicle registration online on the official website.

  1. Click here to start.
  2. Select the type of car your driver, here are your options:
  • Passenger vehicle
  • Motorcycle

5. The price of a vehicle registration renewal is $93.00

6. Once you follow all the steps, you will get a digital download of your vehicle registration certificate.

When to Opt for In-Person Registration

In these cases, it’s not possible to renew online and you need to visit your preferred registry services agent to renew your vehicle registration certificate.

  1. You have outstanding fines. In that case, you need to pay the fines, make sure they’re processed, and then renew your vehicle registration.
  2. The motor vehicle information you’ve entered doesn’t match your vehicle information statement. In that case, you need to visit a registry agent.
  3. You want to make changes to your address.
  4. You want to renew for two years. Online renewal is only available for 1 year.

Problem 2: User Can’t Access Digital Download

If your vehicle registration certificate digital download isn’t available, check its status. If it’s in pending status, check back later. Sometimes, it’s not available right away. Moreover, digital downloads are available between 6:00 am and 10 pm. If you’ve finished the renewal steps outside these hours, please check back later.
